Programming Languages
SourceSpell 2 was developed with flexibility in mind. Editions of SourceSpell can now spell check most popular programming languages including C, C++, Delphi, Pascal, Java, Visual Basic, Windows Resource Scripts and more.

Spelling Engine and Languages
The speed and power of the spelling engine has been dramatically improved. All editions come standard with 100,000 word US and UK English dictionaries. Spell checking other languages is now supported with add on Language Packs.

Platforms
In addition to Windows we now offer full support for x86 Linux. Versions for other Linuxs, most Unix and Unix-like operating systems and the Mac are also available, although not yet officially supported. See our system requirements page for details. Cross-platform and multi-platform developers will appreciate our new license agreement which allows you to download and use the program on all supported platforms.

Flexibility

Options Can Be Set on a Per-Section Basis
You can now choose to limit your spelling check to only certain section types. Just string literals, string literals and multi-line comments, etc. The options to use in the check can also be chosen on a per-section basis. Thus you can now apply very strict checks to string literals (which may be seen by the final user) but can ignore common programming idioms in comments, which will only be seen by your colleagues or employer.

Code Dictionaries and Standard Naming Conventions
For each section type you can choose to include a second personal dictionary of common terms used in source code. You can also opt to accept standard method and variable naming conventions so that "setValue" will be treated as correctly spelled.

Tools

Dictionary Maintenance
We now have the best tools for maintaining your personal dictionaries of any spelling checker. Viewing and editing the contents of your dictionaries is trivial using a simple dialog, and can even be done in the middle of a spelling check.

Backup and Restore
You can now choose to automatically back up all files included in the check. They can be restored by the program at any time, or you can restore them using any zip management utility.
